How Amazon FBA fees work

Referral fee

Amazon's commission on the sale, charged as a percentage of the item price. Most categories are 15%, but rates range from 5% to 45% depending on category, and some (like Clothing and Jewelry) charge a different rate depending on the price bracket. Most categories also have a $0.30 minimum fee per unit.

Fulfillment fee

What Amazon charges to pick, pack, and ship the order, based on the product's size tier and weight. A 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge applies on top of the base fee. Products priced under $10 typically qualify for the Low-Price FBA discount, which knocks a fixed amount off the fee.

Storage fee

A monthly charge based on how much space (in cubic feet) your inventory occupies in Amazon's warehouses, at a higher rate during the October–December peak season. This calculator estimates one month of storage per unit — if inventory sits for several months, actual costs will be higher.

Amazon's real fee schedule has many more category- and dimension-specific rules (including per-ounce and per-pound increments, and an Overmax handling fee for oversized or irregularly shaped items) than are modeled here. Fee rates change periodically — this calculator is an estimate for planning purposes, so confirm exact figures with Amazon's official FBA Revenue Calculator before finalizing pricing.
